Something Different.

DSC_0156
^I decided to order something different this time. I think I have a new favorite drink.

So it seems I'm always a day or two late with the updates, sorry! But nonetheless, they always turn up sooner or later, and that's what matters in the end, right?

This past Monday was probably the best Monday we've had this entire school year, which caught me by surprise after a so-so weekend. Prior to going to bed the night before, I had set my alarm clocks for another ten minutes later than my usual waking time and planned my outfit for the day to come, which consisted of my "beater" clothes. When I awoke, I jumped in for a quick rinse, brushed my teeth, put on the nearest pair of pants and threw on a jacket; I didn't even bother to change out of the shirt I slept in.

As soon as I stepped into my dreaded first period class, I had already felt the usual "Monday disease" creep slowly towards me. Second period was no different, and by third, I was falling asleep in class. I awoke to a pop quiz on the movie that the class had just watched, and somehow managed to answer 4 out of 6 questions correctly, which would have been 5 had I listened to my instincts and not hesitated. I stumbled out of the classroom, still half-asleep, but what I was greeted with when I arrived at the usual spot made me wide awake. For the first time in a long time, everyone seemed to be in high spirits and full of energy, which is a rare occurrence, especially for a Monday of all days. The increased level of eccentricity among my friends was a much-needed shot of adrenalin, and needless to say, my mind was in full-swing for the rest of the day.

AP Chem rolled around the corner, and again I managed to somehow stay awake for both periods AND take proper notes AND correctly answer the equations. An earthquake struck early on in the class period, providing a dose of hilarity for the class. Apparently some people are oblivious to the ground shaking beneath their feet, for about five minutes after the tremor occurred, a nearby teacher (she was a short, old Asian lady with glasses) came running into our classroom, yelling at the top of her lungs. "WAS DAT AN EARTHQWAKE DAT JUS HAPPEN?" Geez, people!

Sixth period came along with an assessment test. Fortunately, it wasn't graded, which was a big break for me because by question 62, my eyes had started to droop and my mind began to commence afternoon-shutdown phase. I don't know how on Earth I read "Carlito" as "Carlton"; I need to stop watching so much Fresh Prince! Eager to get some shut-eye, I blazed through the remainder of the test and was able to put my head down for a nice 8 minutes before the bell rang. I think I've had more fun after school that day than I did after school for all of last week. Another "fight" broke out, and as usual, was broken up pretty quickly. The boys and I decided to head over to Jamba Juice after school again, for the second time in two straight school days. I was reluctant to go at first, but I'm glad I did, for I think I've found a new favorite drink.

On the way back to Daniel's house, my mom called me. Why, mom?! We walked as fast as we could and as soon as we stepped foot inside his house, I stripped down to my usual workout attire (tanktop) and hit the bench press, but by that time it was too late. I only managed to get in about 5 sets of 8 before my mom arrived. I answered the phone and told her to hang on, then proceeded to hop back onto the bench press and finish up another two sets as fast I could until I finally gave in. Looks like working out will have to wait.

As usual, I fell asleep on my couch watching TV, although Spongebob wasn't on that day for some odd reason, so I flipped it over to Happy Gilmore instead. When I finally woke up, it was Cops, which is pretty darn ironic because not too long after that, my car was stolen. You can contact me personally if you want the details, as I'm not too hyped up to start talking about it right now, but basically, they still haven't found it, and shit sucks. Pardon my language, it's been rough. Ultimately, there's not much I can do about it now, and I've been doing my best to cope with everything, which surprisingly is going much better than I thought it would.

The rest of the evening brought good tidings. 24 was as intense as ever, and although I haven't caught up with Heroes yet, I'm sure it's a great one as well. I spent some time on the phone after that, which isn't something I do often, but it's always nice. At least until my phone runs out of battery and/or people start falling asleep on me. But it's all good, Billy Mays all day! Went for a quick run and workout session after that, and then spent some movietime with my parents, something that I haven't done in awhile. My parentals headed off to bed after, so I warmed up some leftovers and let the lull of The Military Channel carress my mind. Soon after, I crawled into my own bed and headed off to la-la-land to count them sheep, where I had the best night of sleep ever.

So there's my Monday in a nutshell. A pretty large one at that; I know my blogs are always gargantuan, sorry! As for Tuesday? Not much happened today, and all you need to know is that I had a big boat full of sushi and a bowl of green tea ice cream.

That's about it for now. Remember to eat lots of bananas and happy April Fool's day!

P.S. Junior Prom is this Saturday!

Gotcha.

^So, I have a pretty big head, not to mention my hairline was off and I was breaking out. I really like that jacket, though.

It looks like I'm back to old habits again. I was hoping for a more eventful weekend, but this will do for now. After school let out on Friday, I walked to Jamba Juice with the boys for the first time in awhile and headed over to Target where my sister picked me up. Most of my afternoon was spent cleaning up my room so my sister could sleep in it later that night; I made a pretty big mess in the process of making my "project". Took a quick nap and headed over to MHS for Trojan Olympics. We almost didn't get in due to tickets being sold out, but luck must have been on my side, because I didn't stay outside for long. TO was amazing, and those Milpitas kids are really something else. So spirited! After it ended, we had a small SC/MHS group going for awhile until most of the Creekheads took off, making it just Pat and I. Headed over to Starbucks and then to Wingstop. I managed to hitch a ride home, thank you again Mrs. Agustin!

My entire family was still awake at the time, so I introduced my Junior Prom date to my them. Usually my parents don't approve of my friends of the fairer sex, but for once in my life I actually brought home somebody they liked. Schweet. After talking about which fast food joint's double cheeseburger was the best tasting one with my sister and her boyfriend, I washed up and got ready for bed. Unfortunately for me, my sister crashed before I did, and took my main bedroom, so I was stuck in the second room where I had no pillows at all, and was forced to use what I could find. Luckily I had my jacket and my Obey shirt, so I folded those up, and threw on my beloved off-white beanie, which has somehow survived not one but two snowboarding trips. Not exactly the best pillow in the world, but it was all I had. Something about that beanie stuck to me, because I've been wearing it for the past two days now.

The next two days proved to be a major drag, but at least some good food came out of it. My sister's boyfriend's parents paid us a visit on Saturday, and we had a nice backyard barbeque. You know spring's here when your nose gets trigger-happy. Sister let me drive myself to my piano lesson, and mom drove me home. Two hours later, it was just my parents and I occupying the house again, so as usual, they called my aunt and uncle over. Typical Saturday night. Sunday was even worse. My dad was working late and my mom took the car to a party in Danville. So what does a kid like me do when he's at home with no car and no plans? Sit around eating leftover steak and watching The Military Channel. Actually, it's quite fascinating. Did you know that the AH-64D Apache Longbow is the most advanced attack helicopter in the world?

If there's one positive thing that came out of this weekend, it was my roots. I've always considered myself an unartistic person, but lately I've begun to realize that maybe there's more creativity in me than I think. It would seem that I have a good ear for music and a knack for writing, because those are the only two artforms which I've worked in thus far. My interest in piano has been rekindled (my note/chord/interval perception is nearly impeccable now). I've been working on a few classical pieces as of late, but there are some modern tunes which I've been learning as well. As far as writing goes, my little black notebook is still turned to the same page it's been at for the past months, but verbally, that's another story. Freestyling has become an outlet for me to truly capture my emotions in the very moment which I feel them, and my instincts tell me to keep at it. Expect a new video on Youtube by the end of April - you won't be disappointed.

I'd love to stay and chat a bit more, but sleep is all that's left on my brain. See you soon.

By the way, you looked really pretty.

^Meet my date to Junior Prom, she's a real sweetheart.

I deleted my last post because looking at it gave me a headache. I'm on my dad's laptop for the first time in ages. For as long as I can remember, he's been the one with all the fancy gadgets: this laptop, his BMW, the D200; and I'm the one who patiently waits for him to finish using whatever it is he has his hands on so I can get a turn. But after all these years, I've gotten used to it.

For once, I actually ate breakfast and arrived early to school! Well, half a breakfast, I had half a piece of ensaymada. Minimum days are always fun since my teachers usually have more participation-based lesson plans. We're having a sub for Algebra 2 and I don't have to bring my book until Monday. Sweet! I also stayed awake during both chem periods for the first time this week and actually solved some of the equations we're doing. We made another fold-out grammar chart in Spanish. I noticed that I always pick the neutral pastel colors for my construction paper.

After school, my mom picked us up so I could go home and grab the "project", and since it was sitting on the counter by its lonesome, I ate the second half of my ensaymada from this morning. Things took a little longer than expected, but we finally made it out of the house. Thanks for waiting for us, mom! She dropped us off at school, where Pat's dad picked us up. We went back to his house for a bit, then finally got on our way.

MHS is a really nice school, and there's so many people on campus even after-hours. It makes Silver Creek seem like a ghost town. I walked in with the box in my arms, trying not to shake and not really knowing what to expect. Luckily, things came out better than I expected, and all the worries and doubts I've held for the past few weeks lifted off my shoulders. I hope you like your surprise! Thanks Pat for the idea, it was really neat. Anyways, your cravings have been answered. Enjoy!

Chilled for a bit with the guys & gals outside of Juice City, but by that time I had already begun shutting down. My head was light, my right eye was throbbing, and the lack of sleep started to eat away at me. How I ever managed to get through the door of my house was beyond me (thank you for the ride, Kat's kuya). I wish I could have been more talkative but I was just out of juice, and as soon as I got home I flopped on the couch and didn't get up for another 3 hours. Talk about a party pooper, sheesh.

Regardless, it was nice hanging out and meeting new people today. It seems I'm somewhat known at MHS. Today was a good day; see you guys on Friday!

Friday.

Thanks for distracting me!

^Yes, I know the white balance is off.

It seems like I'm always late on occasions like these, and I'm terribly sorry. Wednesday was my dad's birthday, 53! I arrived home fairly early (it was a minimum day) and started to let my creativity flow, which is a rare occurrence, but it was nice. At least until the battery died, and I wasn't able to find my Canon charger. CHANGE THE BATTERY PACK. Yes, I know it's dead, I'm not blind.

Dad took me to the bookstore when he came home from work. After about half an hour I was ready to check out. He paid for me and also decided to open up a membership card, mainly because it gives him 10% off on Starbucks every time he goes there, but it'll also give me a discount on my books, too. Including the one I just bought. Thanks dad!

I was really hoping for my cousin to come over, but unfortunately he was real tired from school and couldn't make it. Bummer. My other cousins and I played cards for a bit, but I didn't have it in me that night and I lost over and over again. Thankfully the cake came out shortly after: green cream coconut cake, or at least that's what I call it. I don't know why it's green if it's coconut. We had this last time, but it was still good.

This week has been pretty busy for me. Between keeping up with schoolwork, managing my finances, practicing piano, and trying to get enough sleep every night to stay awake throughout the day, I haven't really had much time to dedicate to any one thing, and I seem to be slipping a little here and there, but at least I finally updated my Flickr. Thank God it's Friday, so I'll have the weekend to play catch-up. I have a photography gig which I'm hoping to attend, and also a pretty big project to work on. Whoah!

Oh, and I desperately need a haircut.

P.S. I know this is a really bad habit, but I took a 3-hour long nap today, and I can't sleep.

P.S.S. Somebody just called my house phone. I think it was my parents trying to get me to go to sleep. I was too scared to pick up. I'm screwed, I think.

Just Splendid.

I've been pinched, but I still can't believe it.

Sadies was this past Friday. I tried my best to keep my cool, but I'd be a liar if I said that I wasn't a little nervous. After all, it was my first school dance, and in an effort to relieve my anxieties, I did nothing but bake and clean from the moment I stepped foot into my house on Friday afternoon. I finally got around to showering and getting dressed, and my dad and I left the house at around 7:20. We took the RSX, which saddened me a little because I know it's going to be gone before I know it. Poor baby.

I met up with Pat and the guys in front of the gym entrance and we chilled for a bit. My eyes lit up when I saw you. I truly wonder how God was when he created you. And as we danced, I felt the very essence of my being pour out onto the dance floor, felt my every need tended to, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It was my first school dance, but I don't think I would have rather gone with anybody else. Thank you for being the best date I could ever ask for.

Goodmorning! I picked up my jeans yesterday, and they fit great! The pockets are a bit smaller than what I'm used to having, but hopefully they're big enough for you.

^ Saturday night. I barely had time to run last week so I got a little chunky. I did my 3 miles earlier tonight, though. I know I'm going to get in trouble for staying up this late, but here it goes anyways.

So today was not too bad of a day. It could have been a lot better though. After school Quiatchon and I went to drop my jeans off at the tailor and then we headed to Valley Fair to look around. I walked out of the place after 2 hours with two flannels for my Sadies date and I, and a new jacket for myself. Oh, and a beer-battered fish burrito in my stomach.

I guess you can say I'm stuck in a rut right now, although it's actually not as bad as I make it out to be. My grades are slipping and I'm always low on funds (Algebra 2 can go to hell, pardon my French). At least my parents and I have been on good terms lately. For once my dad didn't yell at me for my grades. Laziness is to be blamed in part but I really don't understand what I'm being taught anymore, I seem to just doze off in most of my classes. But at least it's only one class that I have a bad grade in, the others are doing alright!

Throughout the day I got some text messages that really got me thinking. Like, honestly, pretty deep thinking. I haven't done that for awhile, ha. But it really made me wonder if all of this is real or not, whether or not I'm just daydreaming. And I really do hope that it is and that I'm not, because I don't remember the last time I've wanted something this badly. As cliche as it sounds, I really have been waiting my whole life for this. I guess it's still a little new to me.

Being in a rut sucks. Thank God Sadies is this weekend!

Oh, and to everyone who gave me funny looks today: Thanks!

quiatchon (5:29:12 PM): that sure as hell shows some great courage

It's been like this for the longest time now. And I need to know who I can trust.

Sunrise Goodbyes and Missing-You Tomorrows.

Best Saturday I've had in awhile.

I overslept this morning and most of my morning plans fell apart. Dad came home in the afternoon and we went driving for a bit. I swear there are people on the road who don't know what a stop sign is. Afterward I went to my piano lesson; I did a bit worse than usual on my intervals, but I was alright with notes and chords. Later dad took grandma to church, so mom drove me downtown to the SJ Civic Auditorium for Fantastics. Met up with Pat, Daniel, and AJ at around 5:45 and kicked it for a bit until Amery, Ashley, Kat, and Mae came through.

Headed inside afterwards and got seats! After a bit of repositioning we finally got things settled in. It started off kinda slow; the freshmen and sophomore skits were alright, but when it came time for the juniors we lit up the auditorium! Best Fantastics skit I've seen, Martin was dope and the HADOUKEN had me rollin'. Unfortunately for the seniors, their Eiffel Tower collapsed, although I couldn't help but be a little glad because that thing had been in my damn way since we began watching.

The girls left after the show (bummer) so we decided to have a Fattyboyz night out. Hit up Jack-in-the-Box, I got a Sourdough Jack combo (w/ curly fries) and two tacos. That filled me up pretty well, but I'm hungry again now. We went back to the auditorium and chilled for a bit with people and took some more pictures. We swung by Pat's house on the way home to drop him off and I went in to greet his family. Back home after that; my parents were having ANOTHER karaoke party.

Well here's some pictures!

Amery! Thanks for letting me tickle you and play with your cyst and for slapping my hand silly and punching me and for not stealing that lady's food and for leaving me all by my lonesome at times and hiding and for spilling water on you accidently and knocking the wind out of me and for slamming me into electrical boxes outside of the auditorium and for all of the pictures we took and letting me place my hand on your thigh and cracking the egg on your knees and for letting me hold you.

In other words, thank you for a wonderful night!
