Glazed Upon

The art of persuasion is difficult to master; perhaps I should join the debate team.

Freud was a total nutcase who was obsessed with all things phallic,
give me one good reason why I should study him.

"What do sunsets remind you of, Squidward?"
"Explosions...I mean erosion."
was his reply.

Frozen yogurt, frozen ice cream, frozen coffee
frozen frozen frozen spoon

Cooking Mama, not one, but two
and boats, big boats, small boats, ugly boats, pretty boats, boats with bottles and boats with floaters,
boats that sink and boats that topple over sideways, rice hat and paper sign, everyone in boats

not enough oomph to do another set
doo wutcha like if that's your style
windows are open and cats are awake
sleeping late is bad for you, and dogs are noisy.

Lovey dovey rub-a-dub-dub, not always as it seems but never too far off
eased into submission, thoughts melt into puddles and everything is at ease again
A free-flow of emotions and thoughts, comments and quirks, adequate for nothing, really, but still hoping

Oh, blinking red light, tell me a story!
But don't make me wait three minutes for it,
the wait alone makes me tremble with anticipation
and quiver with delight.

NEED MORE RAGE.

I can be a pretty angry person.

Five more days until it's my birthday, but I think I'm more excited for what's to come after that. It's been way too long, and you know it's time. From 2006 until today, you've never given up and never let me down. Don't worry, I'll be back before you know it. Forget DKs, we were the OG tanks since alpha. Don't be acting like you know the game, starting at level 55, you have no idea what it felt like dinging 60 back in the day. Paladins? Go heal something, get out of my Horde. Druids, I hope you enjoy being FotM every other patch. Warriors are where it's at, homie.

Good news for Druids though, rejoice! Looks like they're finally giving us different skins for bear and cat form. We've been asking for this for ages, but better late than never, right? Now just let us mount in Boomkin form and we're good.

Other than that, I feel as if I'm way behind. About ten levels behind, actually. But hey, I've always been behind for as long as I can remember. No worries, though; it's been almost 9 months and I'm itching to get back into it. Denkou's coming back for good this time. I was born to MT.

As far as my real life goes, it's alright, thanks for asking. Time to sleep(?!)

Itchy Chins

Do I still care?

Yes.

Should I still care?

You tell me.

Memorial Monday

Hello, I miss you terribly. I hope you had a beautiful Monday! Today, I woke up around 11:30 and had a big bowl of chicken porridge, two bowls actually. My mom baked cookies and made me fried rice. Dad and I watched the game, and my aunt and uncle came over to eat and pick up the leftover cake. A kumquat is a citrus fruit, by the way. I have a kumquat tree in my backyard, and a persimmon tree, and a green apple tree, and a lemon tree, and pepper shrubs, and an avocado tree. Maybe you can take a picture with them when you come over, I'll put a flower in your hair. I'm about to get started on my homework now, terrible. Oh, and I'm not amazing, so you can stop calling me that!

Oysters?

Do you hear me, talking to you?

(This post will be very discombobulated, just to let you know)

Yesterday was my cousin and her boyfriend's graduation. Congrats! They're Bio majors at SJSU, and she's heading off to Stanford in the fall. I don't know why they decided to have graduation in that tiny music hall. IT WAS TERRIBLY HOT AND INDESCRIBABLY UNCOMFORTABLE. I think I'm a little claustrophobic. I hate how people will bump into you and step on your shoes just to get by, as if you're not even there. This girl walked up and stood in the spot right in front of me, which made me feel awkward because she had strong perfume on. I walked away.

We had a pretty big BBQ at my house after. I didn't get to eat any oysters last night, but my mom saved two for me in the fridge. The beef was good, so were the shrimp balls, the fried rice was cold, sorry. Cake was gross, I don't really like lemony-flavored things. Yeeugh. Played cards with my family for a good four hours or so, showered after they left, and knocked out on the couch around 3AM. Goodmorning, my body hurts, and I'm tired. Nice seeing you again, though.

Next week is my birthday, I think I might have a little shindig, yadig?

Fixed!

Hello, this is my favorite fish in the entire pond. (I haven't named him yet.)
Poi!
So my dad spent the entire weekend + Monday and Tuesday to get the waterfall up and running, and what do you know, it is! Great job daddy-o, thanks for fixing up the backyard. Even though I don't spend much time out there, I really enjoy the overall ambiance of it, and the sound of flowing water helps me sleep. Our pond is a little dirty right now as you can tell, and there are mosquitoes and other insects breeding everywhere. I saw a humongous dragonfly today, you scared the crap out of me!

Mr. Weather (as my mom calls him) really needs to make up his mind, although I admit it was nice out today. School has been well, and I'm staying awake and paying attention now. We have a sub for chemistry for the rest of the week because my teacher's grandmother passed away and he went to Mexico for the funeral. Poor guy. And while we're on the subject, my good friend's dad is going into heart surgery tomorrow. I hope things turn out alright, I really do.

My video camera works just fine, thanks for asking, but my Firewire to USB cable doesn't want to cooperate with me right now, so unfortunately I'll have to hold off on any new videos until I can find a workaround. I was hoping to vlog this week, but I don't think that will happen. Remind me to ask my brother for help about this tomorrow, OH, and to talk to sis about school. My friend brought a brand new jar of Nutella today and she was kind enough to share me a spoon(knife)full. I forgot I had my retainers on, but it was good!

I think I'm a pretty terrible dude, yeah. I finished my workout today, properly of course, but the first thing I did after that was unwind in front of the couch with a bowl of pineapple coconut ice cream. Sorry, stummy! I'll work it off tomorrow, although I'll probably end up repeating the cycle. I partially blame our cook for dropping off a boatload of ice cream last week, but we appreciate the gesture, and thanks for the food that was left in the fridge today at lunch, I enjoyed the fried beef noodles, but there were too many vegetables.

Food food food food food food food food. I'm a cow by the way. Moo. No, I will not let you milk me and I don't give cowback rides. Well, maybe once in awhile. I really think that beef is my favorite meat, even though I haven't had any GOOD beef in awhile. When are my siblings coming back? I want another excuse to have steak again. Or maybe for my birthday. By the way, it's in about a week and a half, and I still have no idea what to do for it, but Chuck E Cheese seems to be a popular response among those I've asked. Maybe, maybe!

I really need to sleep early. I'll be sure to do so tomorrow, so I have energy for Friday. Wal-mart is nice and has great prices, but it's too crowded. Goodnight!

P.S. Do I sound like a horse when I sneeze?

#3

Just because something still doesn't seem right when I look at my blog:

Only five more days until Friday, I'm excited as f-

Catch me on the dance floor.

Mrs. Stranger

Check out this video from the very talented Ralph Valen, I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do!

So what happened this weekend? A damn heat wave, that's what, but aside from the weather, the past two days have been chill. Saturdays without piano lessons seem empty, but I was able to find plenty of other things to keep my mind and body busy, like trips to Target, Finding Nemo, and playing with Tiffy, my mom's friend's dog. Unfortunately, there were no crab puffs at this gathering, and the husband of the nice woman who makes the homemade thai tea smashed his hand in a door on the way to our house, and decided to remain home that night rather than to join the festivities. Bummer!

Sunday was a long day, accompanied by more heat and more visits from distant relatives, and a drive up to Starbucks and Radio Shack with my dad. It started terribly, and got progressively better; a Rockets loss, avenged by a Magic victory. A couple of hours later, I'm still here, letting my brain rot in front of this screen. Not very productive, but blogging helps to relieve stress. I'll be off shortly after I finish this!

I had a chance to speak with Ralph Valen (again, watch that video!) this weekend. We spoke about our work and the life of a musician, and also bounced ideas off one another. He also gave me something that should help me out a lot; basically the foundation of my next piano cover. I can't say much yet, but it's something different, I'll tell you that much. Don't blink!

Overall, not a bad way to end (and begin) a week. Hope everyone has been enjoying life as much as I have, and take it easy!

P.S. I'm done with internet memes as a part of my everyday vocabulary. What were once situational phrases used to emphasize irony in specific moments have become butchered and mutated by overindulgence, often times being used in manners that are completely out of context. I hope you high school kids enjoy thinking that you're cool and hip overusing sayings which you know nothing about. I've been around the internet a million times and back ever since I was 9 years old, and I certainly know the ropes. Thanks for killing another source of relief in my life, and enjoy the rest of yours!

Leftovers.

Sunday mornings, always nice and quiet on my end. Mom made chao ca, which is alright, but I prefer chicken more. Rockets @ Lakers right now, and it's about 80 degrees in my room. I think I'll always be a boring person, but I guess that's just who I am.

Freestyle Friday

Recorded, but not uploaded. My video camera/computer is being lame, so it'll have to wait for a bit.

Unlimited texts, what a handy thing to have!

Short post for now, I'm beat. Hit up GL today with some homies and hit the IDAS machines for the first time in two years. I'm terrible now, but I'm thinking about getting back into it. 3'12 Akina DH, needs to get faster! Played some pretty good people today, including one guy who owned me with a stock GC8V. I'm not complaining though, no shame in losing to a better player, and that's only motivation for me to get better as well. It's been awhile since I played, but I'm slowly re-learning how to do this.

Anyways, this weekend should be relaxing. Just a bit of homework, a party tomorrow, and chillax on Sunday. I hope Co Thanh makes her crab cakes, and Co Luan makes her homemade thai tea, and that somebody, anybody is kind enough to bring shrimp balls for me tomorrow, that would just make my day!

There's not much else to say, except that I don't have piano lessons tomorrow, so it looks like I'll be doing grocery shopping for my mom. Time to take the car out again? Hopefully, yes.

Keep your eyes peeled!

Just Dicking Around.

No pun intended. My friend showed this to me last week. NSFW warning, enjoy!

Retainers.

I picked up my retainers today. One blue case and one orange case, which I had to come back a second time for. "Sorry, I'm indecisive!" I've never seen you in the office before, but you were a nice lady. Thanks for letting me exchange my cases.

No picture this time, just a bunch of words. Today was an odd day in the fact that everything seemed to happen just a little bit off schedule, and not just because it was a minimum day. I'm beginning to think that I don't know you at all, but I'd prefer to let my art do the talking. Video coming either tomorrow or Friday, whenever I have some free time.

I got a haircut today, and it turned out decent, but hopefully it'll look better in a week or so.

Happy belated, again.

I'm always late on occasions like these, you should know that by now.
Happy Mother's Day
Anyways, happy belated mudduh's day! I hope everyone had a good one. Thanks for the grueling labor you assigned to me ma, I got those tables and the grill squeaky clean, didn't I! Sorry I didn't have a chance to plant your plant yet, but it'll get in the ground soon, I promise!

I realized today that I haven't really updated my blog with anything substantial lately. So what's new? Not much, really. Last week was hell in a nutshell, let's leave it at that, but at least the weekend brought good tidings. Oddly enough, I can't remember what I did on Friday, but I do remember someone texting me and telling me she was having a boring night again. Same old routine, eh?

Saturday was a relaxing day. I finally drove to Costco again for the first time in about a month, and bought a dozen more muffins (six banana nut and six double chocolate) and a man-sized hot dog. "A hot dog and a drink for only $1.50?!" Yes mom, it's a whattabargain!, as sis-in-law would say. Dad was in a rush to pick up his car from the shop, so we dropped him off, and then I went to my piano lesson. Just the usual, although I don't have a lesson this weekend, because my teacher has finals. Good luck, dude!

My aunt and uncle came over later that night, and while my dad and uncle were having another jam session, I watched Catch Me If You Can with my mom and aunt. It's a good movie, check it out if you have the chance. After that, Karate Kid Part II came on, and we baked oatmeal raisin cookies. The adults headed to the karaoke room afterwards, so I stayed cooped up in my room pretty late again, working on something special.

Sunday was mother's day, so of course, we finally had the whole family over for the first time in awhile. Well, almost. Missing out on two people, but after that whole fiasco two years ago, their absence is normal. Sad, but true. The dinner table was as clustered as it's been in a long time: noodles, jelly shrimp (another sis-in-law term), snail sausages, fried fish, lots of veggies, a giant watermelon, and of course, cake to top it off. The cake was taro flavored this time, and was pretty good, although it could have been colder and there wasn't enough of it to go around. After a few hours outside in shorts and a tank-top, we finally headed inside and chilled for another couple of hours. It was nice seeing my cousins again and playing cards with everyone, even if I seemed a little saddened during the card games. And happy mother's day to all the mothers! I love you guys, even though I constantly call you guys "The Crazy Ladies". Haha!

School's been a little slow, but I finally have my educational priorities in order. I've reduced the classes that I'm falling asleep in now to only Algebra 2 and U.S. History. I have a D in Algebra, but despite my class-long naps, I actually understand the material. As long as I study my butt off for the next tests and the final, I should be in good shape, although I might still need a tutor. U.S. History is no problem at all - can you say 102.26%?! Booyah. Speaking of history, a spider crawled on my back today, and I brushed it off and it crawled and fell through the crack between my desk and Don's. He gave me a stare and we scared the girls. As for my other classes, they're in great shape. That D should be skyrocketing as soon as my teacher enters my new grades. My practice test 5, the vocab test from yesterday, and my Poem in Your Pocket poem should give it huge boost. AP Chemistry is such a relaxing class to be in now that the exam is over. We spent Friday afternoon talking about food and aliens, and today we passed time with silly Chemistry-related riddles. Spanish 3 is a cinch, we're making animal cutouts to put on the walls. Life is good!

I'm starting to sleep early now that I finish my homework shortly after I get home. The majority of my free time is now spent either on the couch or on the piano. Houston sufferred a bad loss today, but that makes it even with Sunday's game. And the Nuggets, oh man! The West is looking good. I don't care much for the East, but I hope that neither Boston nor Cleveland makes it. 24 is over next week, I can't believe it. 2-hour season finale, dangit, Kim is always getting into trouble! Not as bad as that stupid mountain lion from season 2, though. I watched a TV special about a musical child prodigy who plays the piano better than I could ever hope to, although that won't stop me from giving it my all. As good as I am, though, I'm not going to get anywhere unless I break out of CMaj., Cm, and DMaj. Good thing my teacher Steven has me transposing music into other keys now. Although I've only done one song so far, it was pretty much done on the spot with no prior practice, and he says I seem to be a natural at it. Isn't that grand!

Well, that's about it for now, sorry for the really long post, but it's been awhile! A bowl of cereal, an episode of Fresh Prince, a few more sets of pushups and curls, and I'm set for bed. I've got another funny (and punny) video to share, but that'll have to wait until tomorrow. In the meantime, here's one of those Chemistry riddles for you. Goodnight!

What are H2O³?

Ice cubes!

(My teacher said whoever answered this was a "fun and cute" person, and I got it right. Don't ask, my teacher is an oddball.)

I like fruit

Going healthy tonight:

One apple
One bowl of strawberry/blueberry flavored Special K
One cup of Yoplait light banana cream pie (I'm fat)
One bottle of Lipton green tea with citrus (well, not a fruit)

Hope everyone had a happy "Drinko de Mayo" as my brother calls it, stay safe!

sniffles

You have no idea how badly I wanted to reach across and pull you closer to me. Not the right time, not the right place.

Anyways, I'm glad you came to visit today! It really made my day, even though you tricked me again. I was super anxious to get out of 6th period (I can't text in that class), and I was pretty upset after I called you afterschool, but it was worth it. Surprise surprise! I'm sorry we didn't really do that much, but it was nice seeing you again. I'm also sorry that you had a rough day, and I'm happy to have been able to make you feel better. Well, I hope those eyes are dry now and that you're sleeping well tonight.

Anyway, they don't know you like I do, they'll never know you.

"sleeping early"

Nope, guess not.

(I'm eating yogurt)

Naturally,

Dear Lord, thank you for helping me find my smile. Love, Mikey.
DSC_0032
It ain't hard to tell that at this point, I've pretty much got my mind on (auto)focus and my sights on bigger things.

I was supposed to be in bed quite some time ago, but instead I became lost in a sea of expression, enticed by the words of old prophets. Amiri Baraka is perhaps one of, if not the best poet I have ever read from, and I'd encourage anyone with an interest in literature to please do yourself a favor and check out his work. What had started as a simple assignment for "Poem In Your Pocket" day turned into a discovery of something amazing.

Today was boring to say the least, but also symbolic, in more ways than one. Four hours of taking the stupid STAR test, which I blew through in under an hour, leaving me the remaining three to sleep and twiddle my thumbs. I walked home after school under gray skies, watching as the cars sped past me, paying no mind to the fact that I was right on the edge of the sidewalk and could have easily stumbled onto the street in the blink of an eye. As soon as I arrived home, I sat down in front of my all-too-familiar case of ebony & ivory and got straight to work, letting my creative juices flow. New videos to come soon, and by videos, I mean a LOT.

By 5 P.M., I was knocked out on the couch to the commentary of the Bulls/Celtics game, after watching my daily dose of Spider Man, of course. I awoke around 7, and the game was still on, heading into three overtimes and not ending until 8ish. Good game. Mom made chicken and pea stew again, but we had no more mushrooms, we she used corn instead. Thanks for buying the bread that I love to dip in your stew, it was delicious as usual! I hope that I did a good job in cleaning up the yogurt I spilled all over the kitchen floor while you weren't home; you didn't mention anything about it, so I think it's safe to assume so.

I talked to an old friend tonight who I haven't spoken to for the past two weeks, it's always nice to hear from people again. Old habits, right? The rest of the night turned out to be uneventful, really, but quite relaxing. After I showered and applied my deodorant (12 strokes on the left, 13 on the right), I saw my mom playing Sudoku by herself at the kitchen counter, so I pulled up a stool, poured myself a bowl of cereal, and turned on some Fresh Prince. I grabbed a cup of yogurt after I finished eating my cereal; she stared at me and then continued working. Headed to my room after we were all done, and that's about it, really.

Not too bad of a day, actually, not too bad at all. Finally Friday!

P.S. I got your text, thanks princess!
